Alex Salvador (Sound Immersion) —
Performing improvised music on a dozen different instruments demonstrating the rich timbre of each and how these instruments can elicit different memories and emotions.
Lettuce Dance Band
Playing East European folk music, including Gypsy and Klezmer styles – guaranteed to get your foot tapping!
Celtic Strings
Townsville Grammar ensemble, directed by Megan Donnelly, showcases 23 students from year 7 to 12 on many instruments including fiddle, cello, flute, tin-whistle, accordion, piano, bodhran, cajon, spoons, lagerphone and drum kit.
Her Royal Highness
A progressive jazz-rock ensemble. The band’s music is highly improvisational, utilising new instrumentation and cutting-edge technology, offering the audience a unique experience with every performance. Of particular note is an instrument called a “touchstyle guitar” or a “baliset”, which combines qualities of guitar, bass and keyboard into a single instrument.
